Moose were a one of the first wave of shoegaze bands from England. Apparently the term 'Shoegaze' originates from an early Moose gig review that observed singer Russell Yates spent more time looking at the lyric sheet on the floor than the audience. The released two EP's for Virgin subsidiary Hut records before the loud distorted guitars receded allowing Yates vocals and more country influences to come to fore.
